Clay & Leadership

Clay & Leadership is a small four-module course for leaders and owner-managers who are curious about the connection between what we shape with our hands and what we shape in our lives, our leadership, and our organisations.

Most leaders have somewhere to go with strategy, law, finance, and operations. Clay & Leadership is an open space where thought can move freely and answers are allowed to arrive in their own time. When the hands are allowed to think, it becomes easier to reach what we already know but have not yet put into words. And when we sit together around the clay, concrete directions for action emerge.

We move between short talks, exercises in clay, silence, reflection, and conversation.

The course

Module 1 · A safe starting point. We shape a vessel, an image of what can hold, protect, and make room, and explore the relationship between condition and movement.

Module 2 · What moves. The clay passes from hand to hand. We explore control, trust, and co-creation when something we began is shaped further by others.

Module 3 · Transformation. We give the works colour and glaze, and explore how change can be turned into strength, clarity, and direction.

Module 4 · Grounding and celebration. We look at what has been shaped, in the clay and in ourselves. You take your finished works home.

Practical

Four afternoons, 15.30–18.30, in my studio in Skodsborg, north of Copenhagen. Courses run from March to November. A small group. Open to everyone, whatever their experience with clay. The course can be held in English or Danish.
